STYLE 2030 Description and Applications Teadit® Style 2030 is braided from DuPont NOMEX yarn, each strand impregnated with PTFE dispersion during the braiding process, lubricated with inert mineral oil. The high mechanical strength of NOMEX fibers, combined with the complex braiding process, results in a soft, pliable packaging with excellent mechanical and chemical resistance. Due to the low coefficient of friction, shaft wear is avoided, even at high shaft speeds. There is no excessive heat build-up between the packing ring and the rotating shaft; packing stays cool, stays soft and flexible, resulting in longer service life. Style 2030 is recommended for all types of pumps, mixers, agitators, reactors, etc. for the chemical, pulp and paper, waste mills, and more. It is suitable for use with a wide variety of media in many different processes, including water, waste, steam, solvents, chemicals, acids and caustics, as well as general service applications where mechanically robust packing is required. It is not suitable for highly concentrated acids and caustic, alkali metals, oxygen. NOMEX™ is a trademark of E.I. DuPont De Nemours & Co. The excellent flexibility of the 2030 style makes this pack very easy to handle, install quickly and easily. Because the packing remains soft and flexible, leakage can be managed to very low levels, therefore readjustment of the gland retainer is almost unnecessary.
